Sodalis is Masonic lodge management software, offered to lodges by subscription. Here is what Worshipful Masters, Secretaries and Treasurers ask most often before opening their lodge.
Before you start
These answers describe Sodalis as it works today. For a question not covered here, request a demonstration: we will show you the application and answer your lodge's questions directly.
You can also browse the demonstration lodge freely — a complete fictional lodge, read-only, no sign-up needed.
How much does Sodalis cost?
€240 per year per lodge, with every module and every update. The first month is free, time enough to try Sodalis with your brethren.
Can we try it before committing?
Yes. Start by visiting the demonstration lodge, no sign-up needed. After a demonstration, your lodge is opened with the first month free.
How do we open our lodge on Sodalis?
There is no self-service lodge creation: request a demonstration, and the Sodalis team opens your lodge with you and guides your first steps.
How do we bring in our existing data?
Through a CSV import assisted by artificial intelligence, which recognises your columns, or record by record from a photo of an identity document. As the opening is guided, we migrate your membership with you.
Where is our data hosted?
The database is hosted in France; documents uploaded to the lodge's binder are stored in the European Union. Each lodge lives within its own data perimeter, with no crossover with others.
How does Sodalis handle data under the GDPR?
Data is processed in accordance with the GDPR. The lodge is the controller of its data; Sodalis acts as its processor, on its behalf. The application contains no advertising and no audience-measurement tool.
Why is there no password?
Each brother enters his e-mail address and receives a personal, single-use link, valid for twenty minutes. There is no password to remember and none to steal; the session then stays open for thirty days on the device.
Who sees what in the lodge?
Every brother has his lodge's home page: visible meetings, news for his degree, agapes, polls. Only appointed officers enter the management area, and every meeting, agape, news item or document carries its own visibility. Investigation reports are compartmentalised separately.
Does Sodalis suit our obedience and our rite?
Sodalis is designed first around the practices of the GLDF and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite — minutes and moral report templates included — and remains open to every lodge. The rite is a free field in the settings, and the lodge's templates can be edited.
Does the application speak each brother's language?
Yes. Each brother chooses his language from several; the interface and the e-mails — summonses, digests, polls — follow it.
Is there a mobile app?
Sodalis is an installable web app: from the phone or tablet browser, “Add to Home Screen” places it among your apps. There is nothing to download from the app stores, and an internet connection is required.
What role does artificial intelligence play?
A limited one, for specific tasks: answering questions about the application, pre-filling a record, summarising a paper, helping to write. It never makes decisions, is never used on candidates, and is scoped by role. It is not anonymous: the data a task needs is sent to the platform's AI provider.
Does our data remain our own?
Yes: the lodge remains responsible for its data. Dues and poll results export to CSV, current documents to a ZIP archive, and the Sodalis team can hand the lodge a complete backup of its data.
Does a brother in several lodges need several accounts?
No. One e-mail address opens all his lodges, even across different obediences: a unified home page, a calendar layering each lodge in its own colour, and switching from one lodge to another in a single step.
